Street Evangelism

I always used the excuse of "oh I am just better at relational evangelism", which is not bad ,but if we look at Jesus' life how many times was he out on the streets just talking to people? The answer is 543. That is a lie . I am not sure how many references there are of Jesus spreading truth in the streets but we all know there are at least many. :-) haha. But if you read through the Gospels you will notice that a good amount of Jesus' ministry was spent out on the streets with normal people just explaining to them the truth.

In the weeks that i have been here we have, almost every week, gone out into the city and evangelised. I ,the wimp that I am, wouldnt ever really aproach people and try and speak truth to them. Now im starting to gain my confidence. Ive been able to timidly share about Jesus with some people on the street and it is intoxicating. Even though most people don't care a brush you off. The ones who listen, at least for a little bit, make the whole time worth it. I used to think that handing out tracts and all that was just dumb, but now i have come to see that as long as with those tracts you are trying to actually talk to people, instead of just handing them out, it is less awkward and even kinda fun. I pray that you all can share in this joy and try and actively, at school, in the mall, in the city, or anywhere else you go, try and take a genuine interest in the random people you see and share with them the true joy and salvation that you have, because you could possibly be the only glimpse of Jesus they see in this world. It is fun. I promise. :-)

Christmas is soon. i miss you all. haha. but its all ok. I have some lovely people here who I am so blessed with.
Kirk first of all has done so much for me. He drives me places, he invites me over to his house to hang out with his family, he invites me to family outings, he constantly points me towards God, and his example of a father and as a brother in christ is easily one of the coolest things to watch and learn from. I truely am meant to be over here learning from a man who seeks after the heart of God like Kirk does. Its just really wonderful that him and his family welcome in this smelly loud american cousin of theres. haha
Then theres Mark Greene... I don't really like him to much. Hes kinda bald and he smells... thats pretty much all i have to say about him.
Some of you know Danny Burgess, the fake twin. (I still havent met his twin brother) Danny is pretty cool. He dates a girl named patience or virtue or blessing. I dont really remember her name. But yeah its been nice just chilling around with danny. He cool. I like him.
There is also Jonothan. I think he is irish. but he doesnt have red hair. not cool. But yeah He works for a group called CIST( Christ in Schools Trust) and every other thursday i go with him to a school and we play games and talk jesus to kids. I like him a lot. He is just cool to talk to because he pretty much likes the same music i do and that is rare over here in the great country of England. Me and him are actually going to see Snow Patrol in march aaaand we are seeing COLDPLAY in september!!!!! I am extremely excited about that! I am pretty sure it will be better than Dave!(take that Aaron :-P)
There are many more people here that have blessed me in many different ways but you will just have to wait to read about them.
Now if you guys want to you can continue to pray for sickness. There is just a cold like sickness that is just playing sick tag with every one here. its dumb. i hate being sick.
Pray for the wed nite youth thing that we are doing pray that we can get the neighborhood kids to come and be a part of it.
pray for my school work here. its very easy for me to procrastinate and not do work but i know that God is trying to teeach me to be studious and steadfast about work.

I miss you all. i wish all of you could just come visit me in England right now... So i guess Iwill jsut have to settle for willie again this week...:-)
Ihope your christmas' are nice and i hope you all get some rest. dont be a stranger. its ok to im or facebook me. :-)
peace,
matt
