Emotion

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 1 Cor. 13:11.
This week i was made aware of a new truth in my life through this verse. When i was a new believer my faith was based on big emotional moments in my life.(CPRs Friday nights, Light Touch, Retreats) In those extremely emotional times i found Christ and that was my sustenance for my christian walk. Like a child i was run by my emotions, still am, but I'm slowly learning that is not spiritual maturity. Spiritual maturity is finding God in more than just those high emotional times. As I become a man, which by the way is a scary thought isn't it, I am starting to learn that I become more stable in my emotions. Not that i don't feel those same emotions i used to but that Idont rely on those emotions to seek after God. My obedience to God is turning into to something that is a more natural and common thing. God is blessing me with little tid-bits of wisdom. I think i might just like that.

As im learning all this things are starting to settle down and become more of a routine here. I actually FOUND A JOB!!! I am now a proffesional stapler. :-) I was told monday they would like me to work at the AMERICAN based store, Staples. It was definitaly an answered prayer to get this job. It is right behind the church. Today I'm going in to go through sort of a training and get all my paper work filled out.
I drove for my first time last night! It was weird because i had to drive on the wrong side of the road aand drive a dumb manual. It was just a lot to think about it and good thing no one died.
For some of you who I haven't told, The first week i was here we had a GIANT bonfire!!! Check my facebook for pictures. It was pretty cool. They brought in a whole bunch of carnival rides and a big stage where MJK, a rap group, preformed and shared the gospel to over 7000 people who were there! It was a lot of fun. Also i got to meet some cool americans who came down from York to help out.
If you would like to please pray for tomorrow night. We are starting a wed night outreach with the youth group here and we are hoping that a bunch of the neighborhood kids will show up. Just pray that the kids acan have fun and that we can provide a safe enviornment for them to be free. Pray that we can establish a atmosphere of love and fun. Pray that God can, through my senseless bable, speak to these kids hearts and give them a hunger for something more than this world.
As i always say i miss you guys. I hope that your thanksgivings and week off are a blessing. Enjoy being home for me please and maybe when you guys hang out you can video chat me in! I love you all!
Peace,
Matt

I am glad you found a job. Just remember: customers don't like employees who are mean. Stay clean!!
